Optional tour up to the mountains & surroundings of St. Anton am Arlberg

For those who arrive earlier to St. Anton am Arlberg it is possible to book an additional half-day tour on Tuesday, 1 July 2025.

 

There are two options:

Get up to the Valluga at 2,809 metres above sea level by cable car

Key facts:

  • Meetingpoint: Valley station Galzigbahn https://maps.app.goo.gl/rNbTpnz9mZRkHuvn8
  • Time 08:20 – 09:00 at the Galzigbahn depending on your group (you will recieve your group per e-mail).
  • Guided hikes starting at 9, 10 and 11am on the mountain meeting point after the first gondola (Mountain station Galzig).
  • Lunch on the mountain at the Verwallstube at 12 o’clock (Mountain station Galzig).
  • Latest gondola back to St. Anton at 14:15.
  • Please remember to bring a refillable waterbottle, good shoes and warm clothing.

This tour leads us into the high alpine terrain and requires surefootedness and a head for heights. Mountain boots and warm mountain clothing are required.

We will start in St. Anton am Arlberg and take the Galzigbahn cable car to 2,184 m. There, we will switch to the Valluga cable cars to approach an even higher altitude of 2,809 m above sea level – a wonderful panoramic mountain view is waiting for you!

In addition, you will get the option of hiking a part of the Mutspurenweg trail with a local guide. The hikes depart at 9, 10 and 11am from the Meetingpoint at the Galzigbahn mountain station. A mountain guide will accompany the tour and explain the special features of the high alpine surroundings. Before we return to the valley to get ready for LINC, we will have lunch at the Galzig restaurant.

This tour will be perfect for those who prefer to stay in the valley!

Together with a herbalist we will discover the local variety of herbs and flowers. The natural surroundings of St. Anton am Arlberg are full of sensory impressions! Thus, you will experience manifold aromatic flowers, culinary herbs, tea and medicinal herbs in their natural environment. In addition to the flavor and fragrance of countless herbs, you will gather manifold insights into flora and fauna of alpine regions. After this little hike, a nature expert will lead a discussion on climate and sustainability in alpine regions.

To conclude this pre-program, we will have regional lunch in the Sennhütte.

Good shoes and warm clothing are required also for this tour.
